The Artist Roland Fuhrmann will talk about the biggest airship hangar in the world.
Designed by civil engineer Ernst Meier (Berlin) and build by the company Steffens & Nölle – Iron constructions (Berlin-Tempelhof) was
erected 1913 in Dresden. The innovative technology premeds to realise that masterpiece of engineering art in half the time and with half
the costs. During the only 5 month of erection this world sensation was documented by huge photographs – still discovered..

Talk about the Weather: WIPFELBURGEN / TREETOP CASTLES
Roland Fuhrmann talks and shows a short film about tree houses for hunting pigeons in Aquitania, France. These well concealed, up
to 25 meter high treetop castles, in French: “palombières”, serve as hunting stands. The architecture is reminiscent of Kurt Schwitters’
Merz Constructions or of the nests of an as yet undiscovered species. These buildings are constantly expanded using recycled
construction material, old high-voltage towers, and scrap from agricultural machines. But the interiors hold unsuspected luxury:
a kitchen, a WC, often even an elevator!
